An elderly woman was driving the wrong way on SR-3 just north of Gorst, Washington, on Wednesday morning, when she collided with a truck and two other cars.
Police dispatchers had been receiving 911 calls just after 9:30 a.m. that there was a car heading north in the southbound lanes on SR-3.
Soon after the calls were made, the dispatchers got word of the crash.
The driver of the car that was heading the wrong way was killed. Later she was identified Shirley Buck, 76-year-old woman of Bremerton.
The driver of the pickup she collided with sustained arm and head injuries and was rushed to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. The driver of another car that was involved received treatment for multiple glass cuts at the scene and was soon released.
While troopers investigated the scene, southbound lanes were closed.
