An elderly woman died from accident injuries Monday in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

The accident took place Monday afternoon at Harvard Avenue East and East Thomas Street when an elderly woman was hit by a pickup truck that was backing into a parking space.

The woman was on the sidewalk in front of the space when she was hit.

She was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she later died.

The driver of the truck showed signs of being impaired and was booked for investigation of vehicular assault.
