An elderly woman died from bicycle accident injuries in Renton after she was hit by a bicyclist Sunday evening.
The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she passed away from head injuries on Monday. The bicyclist was treated for minor injuries.
The woman was walking along the Cedar River Train in Renton around 4:45 p.m. Sunday when she stepped out in front of the bike which crashed into her and knocked her unconscious.
The accident is under investigation but according to Renton Police Department spokesman Terri Vickers, "it seems to be a simple accident."
There are no tickets or criminal charges that were issued to the bicyclist.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the woman's family and friends during this tragic time.
According to Pedestrian Accident Statistics, the majority of incidents occur Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the late evening. Young kids and elderly folks are the most vulnerable for pedestrian accident injuries.
If your family member has been seriously injured or killed in a pedestrian accident it would be in your best interest to contact an accident attorney in Renton who can use their experience to help you file and win your claim against an outside party.
