Elderly Man Dies From Car Accident Injuries | Seattle Attorney

An elderly man died after he received fatal head injuries in a Sequim car accident Sunday morning.

Robert W. Husser of Sequim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with head injuries.  Husser later died at the hospital while among family. 

One other man was injured in this accident.  He was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, then transported to Harborview Medical Center where he was said to be in the intensive care unit. 

According to Washington State Troopers, Husser was taking a left onto Highway 101 from Palo Alto Road in his Chevy Cavalier when he and a GMC pickup truck driven by James I. Gertz crashed into each other. 

Gertz’s truck was heading eastbound when Husser pulled out in front of the Gertz’s truck causing the two vehicles to collide. 

The 2-lane highway was closed in both directions for about 20 minutes that morning. 

Statistics from the NHTSA state that the fatality rate of drivers over 85 is nine times as high then drivers ages 25 - 69. 

Our most heartfelt condolences go out to Robert W. Husser’s family and friends and we hope that James Gertz is able to make a full recovery from his injuries.
