Edgewood Man Killed after Posting Expensive Ring on Craigslist

Edgewood, WA---A father was shot and killed with his family nearby in their home as intruders who had been posing as potential buyers of a ring that was posted on the popular website Craigslist began to rob the family home.

James Sanders, 43, was killed when three men and a woman arrived at his family's home at around 9:30 on April 28, 2010, as potential buyers of an expensive ring that Sanders had posted on Craigslist. The group of intruders flashed cash in order to enter the family home but once they had entered, one of the men pulled a gun and shot Sanders, fatally injuring him. What happened next is still trying to be determined by detectives, but it known that the intruders pistol whipped Sander's 14 year old son on the head, and tied up his wife.

The robber's then ransacked the family's home before police were able to arrive on the scene.

According to Sheriff Spokeman Ed Troyer, it has been confirmed that the robbers did make contact with Sanders prior to the incident because of the expensive ring's posting on Craigslist.
