Scott A. Glover of Federal Way was fatally injured in a car accident on I-5 in Seattle. Sunday shortly after 2:30 a.m., the State Patrol has reported. He was a passenger in a vehicle that was filled with friends that was disabled and on the right shoulderof the highway. Scott had gotten out of the vehicle to aid repairs when a pickup truck struck him and the disabled vehicle The pickup truck was then struck from behind by a Kia Sephia.
Glover died at the scene. The drivers of the truck and the Kia and another passenger were injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center. Many others were injured as well. The patrol reported that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
About 40% of car accident fatalities occur because of a drunken driver. About 30% of the car accident fatalities can be attributed to driving above the speed limits and 33% and above because of reckless driving that causes the car to go off the road and result in an accident.
