While driving north on State Route 243 near Mattawa on Sunday night, Orlando Mendoza-Aparicio lost control of his 1998 Mustang, drove off the road, and struck a tree.
Drugs or alcohol were the cause of the crash, WSP reported.
Mendoza-Aparicio was taken to Kadlec Medical Center with a fractured leg.
