A 49-year-old drunk driver was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to felony charges of DUI and killing a pedestrian. Adie Thilavanh will serve at least 80 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for release.
Thilavanh is responsible for the death of a 25-year-old man that happened on Sept. 19, 2010.
Cory Cole was walking on the side of the roadway around 8 p.m. when he was
hit by the drunk driver. He died a short time later at a nearby hospital.
Two people witnessed the
fatal drunk driving collision.
Troopers said that his blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent.
The fatal accident happened less than a mile from the driver’s home, and near the home of the victim’s grandparents.
Davis Law Group sends their most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victim, Cory Cole.
“There is nothing accidental about a drunk driving accident.”
