Drunk Driver Accused Of Vehicular Homicide
Date: May 17, 2008Location: Near Lake Lawrence in Thurston County, Washington
Kolene Joy Wengelewski pf Yelm has been charged with vehicular homicide. She is accused of being drunk when the car she was driving rolled over, killing a 20-year-old man.
Prosecutors say that that she was driving a Ford Explorer that went off a road near Lake Lawrence in Thurston County and rolled.
Wengelewski's 5-year-old son and a man by the name of Daniel Ditton were ejected from the SUV. The vehicle landed on Ditton, killing him.
Court papers say that a bottle of whiskey, a case of beer and numerous beer cans that had fallen out of the SUV were found at the scene. Wangelewski had a blood-alcohol level of .20 three hours after the accident - 2.5 times the legal limit.
