Type: Car Accident In Auburn, Washington, an elderly woman driving a van lost control and struck a teen walkingon the sidewalk before smashing into a nearby barber shop, spraying the barber and a customer with debris.
The accident took place just after 11 a.m. near the corner of Main Street and Auburn Way.
The woman in her late 70s was going west on Main Street when she lost control of her van and struck an 18-year-old man walking on the sidewalk.
The force of the impact knocked the man several feet away.
The van then struck a light pole and crashed into the front of the Auburn Valley Barber Shop on East Main Street.
Even though the teen didn't appear to have any obvious injuries he was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. A passenger in the van, a man in his 60s, was also taken to a hospital for treatement for minor injuries.
it did not appear the driver was injured at all during the crash.
Police are not yet sure what caused the driver to lose control.
