A man distracted by his cell phone, caused a woman to be hit by her vehicle and pinned against a gas pump. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center with severe injuries to her legs.
The
distracted driver was heading northbound in the evening at 7:30 p.m. on July 24, 2011 when he drove into oncoming traffic, swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle, and lost control of his vehicle.
The man then continued to drive over a sidewalk and gas pump, causing him to hit the woman and her SUV, pinning her up against a gas pump nearby.
The man then escaped from his car and ran from the scene of the accident. He was later found by the police and booked for investigation of hit-and-run, vehicular assault and driving with a suspended license.
