A police officer has killed a pit bull that attacked a 7-year-old girl who was playing on a tire swing in Happy Valley. Jayda Kempas was severely bitten on the legs and will require surgery. The girl's father pulled the dog off his daughter and bystander beat the dog with an aluminum baseball bat. The dog's owner also tried to subdue the dog but ultimately a deputy had to shoot the dog.
