Researchers have collected data to analyze the number of emergency rooms visits for children aged 8 to 19 involved in sports related concussions. Their research shows that the number of concussions has doubled from 1997 to 2007.Teens ranging from 14 to 19 are more likely to be involved in a sports-related concussion as data shows that emergency room visits have tripled.
