Church Bus Accident Kills 1 and Injures 24

A church bus accident killed the 61-year-old bus driver and injured 24 others. The bus rolled over which caused severe injuries, including head injuries.

The most serious injury was of a young 12-year-old girl who suffered from abdominal and head injuries. The bus struck a vehicle, went down a ravine and stopped by slamming into a tree. The tree’s impact was on the driver’s side, which is reported to have caused his death.

The passengers of the church bus were returning on Monday from a weekend retreat. Aboard the bus were 18 teenagers ranging from 13 to 17 years old, along with four adult passengers. Several passengers when into immediate surgery following the crash.

The sport utility vehicle that collided with the church bus was driven by an off-duty firefighter and his wife. They were also injured.

Witnesses at the scene of the accident said that “blood was everywhere.”

The bus driver who was killed was filling in for the permanent bus driver that day.
