A child was killed in a backover accident in Grandview on Saturday.

Around 11:40 a.m. 26-year-old Ulises Miron-Gomez was backing out of his driveway in his Chevrolet Tahoe when he accidently struck and killed his 2-year-old daughter Devinee Miron-Cardenas. He had not been aware that she was behind his vehicle at the time.

The Yakima County Coroner reported that she died from head injuries.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident but have confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the accident.
