Child Killed by Walt Disney World Bus | Washington Personal Injury Lawyer

A child was hit and killed by a Walt Disney World Bus in Florida Thursday.

The accident took place when the nine year old boy and an 11 year old girl were riding their bikes on Walt Disney World Property in Lake Buena Vista Florida.

The two kids and the bus were headed in the same direction in the Fort Wilderness Area when, according to Florida Highway Patrol, the boy crossed into the road, hit the middle of the bus and was pulled under the right rear tire.

Both children were wearing their helmets and there was no evidence of the bus driver being impaired or reckless.

A Disney spokeswoman expressed sympathies to the family of the little boy and is working to provide resources and care for the family.

This accident was the latest in a series of incidents involving Disney's transportation. There were also two bus accidents and a death of a monorail operator.

Bicycle Accident Statistics show that for children ages 0 to 19, collisions with cars account for about 76% of all bike fatalities.
