Jonathan A. Cannasso, a Chelan resident, was
injured in a car crash on I-90 near the Snoqualmie Summit Saturday around 2 a.m.
Cannasso was transported to Harborview Medical Center with numerous lacerations on his head, neck and abdomen after he lost control of his 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck about three miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass Summit.
Cannasso lost control of his pickup truck while driving westbound on I-90, causing him to drive off the road and strike a tree.
One person, Vincent A. Ponath was in the pickup truck with Canasso at the time of the crash, and was treated at the scene for a minor laceration to his hand.
According to Washington State Patrol, inattentive driving was the cause of this crash.
A government study states that 80% of motor vehicle crashes in the U.S. involve distracted drivers.
