A producer on the show “Cash Cab” hit and killed an elderly pedestrian in Vancouver last Friday. The man was returning to a storage facility after filming for the day when he struck the 61-year-old British Columbia resident. The victim later died in a local hospital.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his friends and his family. My heart also goes out to the driver of the vehicle, a member of our technical staff, who is shaken and devastated by this tragic accident, as is our entire team," the president of Castlewood Productions Inc., which produces the Canadian version of the show, said in a statement.
The employees at Castlewood are cooperating with the police department, while they are trying to determine to the full circumstances of the pedestrian accident. There have been no charges against the driver at this time.
