A ferry worker for the Washington State Ferries at the Edmonds Ferry Dock was struck by an offloading vehicle on the ferry Puyallup Thursday. The worker was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but is expected to recover.
After hitting the worker, the vehicle then ran into the inner wall of the Puyallup Ferry boat making it difficult for other cars to get off the of the boat and causing a delay.
The car then had to be towed off the boat causing the cancellation of the following the voyage.
This is a perfect illustration of how quickly and easily accidents can happen and how if a driver loses concentration behind the wheel. Fortunately, the injuries to the worker were not severe but, this accident like many other, more serious accidents, this could have been possibly been avoided by having increased awareness while driving.
