A woman was critically injured in an accident when her car careened off of the NE 145th Street overpass around 11:45 Thursday evening.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

A witness told police that a 1994 Jeep was heading east on 145th Street when it suddenly crossed the westbound lanes. It then went through the guard rails attached to concrete barriers on the side of the road at the northeast corner of the overpass.

The car landed on its top on I-5 below the southbound Transit flyer ramp at northeast 145th street.

The woman had to be extricated from her vehicle.
