Car Accident on NE 8th Street in Bellevue

Texting While Driving Accident in Bellevue

Bellevue Police have reported a mid-afternoon car crash on NE 8th Street in Bellevue near the intersection of Bellevue Way.  The accident, which took place just outside the Bellevue Square Mall, involved a 2003 Mercedes and a 2007 Audi.  The driver of the Mercedes had just pulled out from the Starbucks on NE 8th when her vehicle was stuck from behind by the driver of the Audi.  Police suspect that the driver of the Audi may have been a distracted driver who was either talking on a cell phone or texting while driving. 

The driver of the Mercedes was taken to Overlake Hospital as a percaution for head and neck injuries.  The driver of the Audi was not injured.
