A car accident involving a semi-truck injured two men around 12:40 Thursday on I-82 near Ellensburg.

According to Washington State Patrol, the semi truck caused the accident when he moved into the southbound left lane of I-82 to pass a slower car. That caused a four-door Mitsubishi Lancer in the left lane onto the shoulder where it hit the guardrail, bounced back onto the road and crashed into the semi's trailer.

Both men in the Lancer were taken to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. One suffered from a head contusion and sore chest and the other had a neck injury.

Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in this crash.
