A Belfair man sustained a car crash injury early on Tuesday on Highway 101 just north of Hoquiam.

He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where he suffered from a broken back. He remains in satisfactory condition.

According to the Washington State Patrol Troopers, the man was driving south on Highway 101 about 41 miles north of Hoquiam in his 1983 Ford Pickup Truck. He hit a tree that had fallen on the road due to the bad weather.
His car then stopped when he hit the guardrail of the southbound side of the highway.
