Power was knocked out when a car ran into a power pole on SR-20 near Vista View Drive, between Burlington and Sedro-Woolley.
The car that caused the accident was carrying four people: -- Wendu Ayansu -- Mulu Feser -- Bewukutu Angaw -- Freweni Tsegaye
93,000 customers were without power in Skagit and parts of Island Counties. And all 14,000 customers in San Juan County were knocked out.
The outage also affected the Shell and Tesoro oil refineries near Anacortes. Their production equipment automatically shut down and burned-off oil products as it’s designed to do, causing visible smoke and flame but no injuries or reports of spills.
