Researchers at DePaul University found that two U.S. curbside bus companies have seen a 32 percent increase this year in passengers.
The bus that pick up passengers at the curb have been continually growing as people are opting out of buses that pick up at terminals. In fact, all bus traffic has quickly grown since 2008.
Along with his gas prices for drivers, buses make for a convenient transportation by offering free Wi-Fi and cheaper prices than planes and trains. People have began viewing bus transportation as a cool and attractive way to travel, instead of a last result. Compared to a year ago, intercity curbside buses increased to 778 from 589.
There have been a few bus accidents that have killed several passengers in the last few years.
These fatal accidents bring up a good topic – safety. The NTSB warned that curbside buses are seven times more likely to be in fatal crash than other intercity lines.
