SEATTLE -- A blind pedestrian woman, her service dog, and another pedestrian were injured in a car crash last night. Apparently a Volvo was headed west on Aurora Avenue North when its driver had a medical emergency. The driver lost control of the vehicle, swerved right and crashed into a road sign before hitting a Mazda at North 85th Street during rush hour. Then the car continued on and ran into a pedestrian on a sidewalk. The blind woman was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her service dog, who was also hit, was taken to an animal hospital. In the end the Volvo came to a stop after ramming into a Toyota parked in a gas station parking lot. The driver of the Volvo had only minor injuries.
