Bicyclist Killed in Accident in Snohomish County

A 24-year-old man was killed in a bicycle accident Saturday morning near Brier, an unincorporated area of Snohomish County, after he was struck by a pickup truck.

According to police reports, emergency crews responded to a call of a bicycle-vehicle collision at the intersection of Atlas and Barker roads at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday. They arrived to find a 24-year-old bicyclist from Lynnwood who had collided with a pickup truck, and they pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Investigators say that the driver of the pickup, a 43-year-old man from Mountlake Terrace, did not exhibit any signs of impairment and the Snohomish County bicycle collision is being investigated as an accident. They also said they believe the bicyclist may have been travelling too fast for conditions.
