A Bicycle Accident Injury sent one man to the hospital Thursday evening on Bainbridge Island.

The man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. His injuries were not life-threatening.

The accident took place when a bicyclist who was headed east on High School Road was hit by a man pulling out of Capstan Drive. The man driving the car pulled out in front of the bicyclist.

The bicyclist was wearing the proper lighting although the driver stated that he was hard to see.

The case was forwarded to Kitsap County Prosecutor's Office where it will be reviewed.

Bicycle Accident Statistics state that in 2005, 784 bicyclists died in the United States.
