A bicycle accident injury left one man with serious injuries Saturday morning just before noon near Redmond.

The bicyclist was transported to Overlake Hospital with serious injuries.

According to Washington State Patrol, around 11:45 a.m. a group of around ten bicyclists from the Starbucks Racing Team were riding westbound on SR 202 near Ames Lake Road when one of the bicyclists was forced off the road to avoid being hit by a mini-van and went into a ditch.

Witnesses to the accident said the red minivan was traveling eastbound at high speeds when it crossed the yellow center line and passed some eastbound vehicles while in the westbound lane.

It is our hope that the bicyclist injured in this accident is able to make a rapid recovery.
