On Saturday night, while responding to a call, two Benton County sheriff's deputies were injured when their patrol car crashed into a telephone pole in Richland.

They were headed west on Van Giesen Street when they lost control of the patrol car, spun off the road, and struck a telephone pole around 1:30 a.m.

Both deputies were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for treatment and were later released.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
