The pedestrian was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The pedestrian accident took place Sunday when Patrick Franklin was filling up his gas tank of his pickup truck on the right should of I-5 near Seatac. Franklin was completely off the road when an Auburn man driving southbound in a minivan just north of 200th street drifted into the shoulder and hit him.
Washington State Patrol says the driver of the van had been drinking and using his cell phone when he hit Franklin.
The driver was booked into King County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault.
It is our hope that Patrick Franklin is able to recover from his injuries fully and rapidly.
