Autistic Boy Hit by Car on Highway 99 near Tukwila l Child Injury Lawyer

A child was injured near Tukwila Saturday evening after he was hit, just north of Highway 599. 

The boy, who suffered from autism, was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. 
The boy’s aunt reported him missing from his home in Seatac around 4:30.  Fifteen minutes later police received a report of a young boy walking on the left shoulder of Highway 99.

The child had crossed the southbound lanes of the highway and was attempting to cross the northbound lanes, when was hit by a one-ton flatbed pickup truck. 

The driver of the pickup, also a Seatac resident, was uninjured.  Drugs and alcohol are not thought to be a factor in this crash, and no charges are pending at this time.

The right northbound lane of Highway 99 was closed for nearly three hours while state troopers investigated the scene.   

According to the National Center for Statistics and Analysis, nearly 700 child injuries occur every day due to accidents on the road.
