Leaking Tanker Truck Causes Slick Roads And Accidents In Bellingham l Bellingham Lawyer l Bellingham Accident Attorney

Date: October 31, 2008
Location: I-5
Accident Type: Car Accident

There were more than 10 car accidents on Interstate 5 through Bellingham which slowed traffic on Friday.  Apparently a tanker truck from a local refinery had been leaking oil or diesel fuel on the southbound lanes in Bellingham causing slick road conditions.  The Washington State Department of Transportion spread sand on the stretch of highway to provide more traction to motorists.

The majority of the wrecks were minor and caused only minor injuries.  Most occurred in the southbound lanes of I-5 through Bellingham.   Cars spun out as drivers tried to brake on the slick road.  Cars hit other vehicles, signs and guardrails.  Rubberneckers in the northbound lanes were distracted and caused a few accidents in the other direction.

Motorcyclist Injured in I-5 Hit-and-Run | Washington State Personal Injury Lawyer

Type: Motorcycle Accident

Date: November 3, 2009, 11/03/09

Location: Milepost 27 on I-5

Outcome: 1 injured

A motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate-5 around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Rodney Johnson was taken to St. John Medical Center with injuries consisting of broken fingers, a sprained wrist and cuts to his head.

According to Washington State Patrol, a dark colored car was driving aggressively going northbound on I-5. The driver of the car suddenly changed lanes near milepost 27, hitting the back of Johnson's 2009 Harley Davidson.

The impact from the car threw Johnson into the grass on the median and knocked his bike 150 yards ahead of him onto the right shoulder.

With gas prices going up, more and more people are buying motorcycles. Unfortunately that increase in motorcycle sales has led to a 50% increase in motorcycle related deaths. That means there are over 4700 deaths related to motorcycles in the United States.

Riding a motorcycle can be very dangerous and aggressiveness from other drivers only increases your risk of injury. If you or anyone you know has been involved in a motorcycle accident caused by aggressiveness or negligence from another driver please contact an experienced Washington State motorcycle injury attorney as soon as possible.
