72-Year-Old Woman Dies in Motor Home, Man Says Guardrail is to Blame

Motor home RV accident
A woman died instantly after falling down an embankment in her motor home, when the coach landed on its roof.

The 72-year-old was traveling on a highway when she did not navigate the right hand turn lane to the exit for the onramp.

The woman was the only person in the vehicle and involved in the accident.

A resident near the accident said that the problem is not with the condition of the guardrail or even the type of the guardrail, but with its placement.

"It stops about 80 or so feet short of coming all the way up the exit ramp to connect with Highway 14," he said. "It leaves it wide open in front of that embankment and it's dangerous. The guardrail just isn't long enough."

He said that he has learned this from personal experience, as sister also went over the bank two years ago, yet she wasn’t seriously injured.

It is suspected that due to the size of the motor home, it may have played a part in her death.

Davis Law Group sends sincere condolences to the friends and family of the victim. If the guardrail is at fault, we hope that it is taken care of before another fatal accident happens.
