King County troopers are cracking down on cell phone users while driving. While it is illegal to use a cell phone without hands-free features, many people still break the law.
In September, troopers stopped more than 370 drivers for talking on their cell phones and 43 people for texting while driving. More than half of these drivers received a $124 ticket for the
illegal cell phone use.
While cell phone use is discouraged all together, a hands free device is legal.
