According to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project, almost one-third of U.S. adults prefer to be reached through text instead of talk on their cell phones. The study showed that 31 percent of
adults would rather text message than the 51 percent that would rather a call. Fourteen percent say it depends.
If you didn’t know this statistic already – 73% of U.S. adults text and 83% are mobile phone owners. Surprised?
However, young adults are responsible for the majority of texting. Adults between 18-24 texts most frequently, sending on average 109.5 messages each day or 3,200 texts each month.
Now, consider how many people are texting while driving? With the amount of texts that are sent every second, it is unbearable to think about how much of that typed from behind the wheel. There is nothing wrong with texting, if you are responsible while doing so. Just remember, no text is ever as important as someone’s life.
Save a life, don’t text and drive.
