A fatal drunk driving accident led to a 26-year-old woman dead after a high speed chase. The
drunken driver was being chased by police, when the vehicle crashed and a killed the woman in Marysville.
The drunk driver had already hit two vehicles when he crashed into the third, which was fatal.
The
DUI collision took place near the Best Western Tulalip Inn. The alleged drunk driver, 45-year-old man from Arlington was driving a pick up truck. When police got him out the vehicle, it caught fire. They worked to save the woman who was hit, but she died at the scene.
The victim’s identity has not yet been revealed.

Washington State Fatal Drunk Driving Death Statistics
In 2008, 255 people in Washington State lost their lives in fatal alcohol related motor vehicle collisions. One hundred eighty-two (182) of those accidents involved a drunk driver whose blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.08 or higher. In Washington State, 34% of all fatal motor vehicle crashes involve a driver that was under the influence of alcohol.
Washington State Drunk Driving Law
Washington State law provides that the drivers on the road have the duty to not operate a motor vehicle when under the influence of alcohol. See RCW 46.61.502.
