A Washington State Trooper was injured in a Highway 525 collision near Lynwood Saturday morning.

The trooper and a sergeant had parked their patrol cars on the shoulder of an icy Highway 525 northbound near Interstate 5.

They were investigating an earlier accident when they were struck by a Ford Expedition that had lost control in the ice, hit the concrete barrier and hit the sergeant's patrol car. It then spun 180 degrees and hit the second patrol car. Both patrol cars were totaled.

The trooper received a minor injury to his thumb. The sergeant and driver of the Expedition were unhurt.

WSP Trooper Keith Leary advises drivers to slow down in icy conditions and to use extra caution.
