Date: December 5, 2010, 12/05/2010
Location: Kent, King County, Washington
Type: Car accident, possible DUI
Outcome: Two dead

Alcohol and possibly drugs are believed to have played a role in the three-car crash that occured around 3:15am on Sunday that claimed two lives. The events of the accident, and the cause, are still unclear. Three different vehicles were driving on westbound lanes of Route 516 in Kent when one of them lost control, causing a chain-reaction collision.

A 25-year-old woman from Yakima lost control of her Chevrolet and was struck a Honda SUV driven by a 57-year-old man from Kent, who, in turn, was struck by a Honda Civic driven by a 40-year-old man from Renton. The first two died at the scene, and the 40-year-old along with the 28-year-old passenger from the Chevrolet were taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation but the 40-year-old driver is under suspicion of vehicular homicide and Washington State Patrol believe alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash, as well as the possibility of street racing.
