1 Man Rescued, 1 Missing in Everett Boat Accident

Rescue teams pulled one man from Puget Sound Monday afternoon after a boating accident caused the boat to sink. According to officials, a 12-foot boat with two men on board apparently tipped over and sank after the size of the waves in the area increased. Boaters in the area reportedly saw a man treading water just north of Jetty Island off the coast of Everett and called 911.

Crews realized that the man was blue in color when they brought him to shore, and he was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of hypothermia. Authorities deployed rescue divers and helicopters to survey the scene, and they are still looking for the other man.
