Our Legal Comment: I see more and more drivers traveling too fast in construction zones. The construction workers are so vulnerable to a careless driver. It is absolutely imperative that the work site has been properly coned off, with appropriate signage and the use of flaggers (i.e., MUTCD requirements). Sometimes construction companies try to save money by neglecting safety precautions when it comes to properly notifying drivers of the hazards ahead. Other times it makes no difference because nothing can prevent the careless driver who refuses to slow down or pay attention while driving in a clearly marked construction zone.
